What will you be doing:
The Clinical Informatics RN (Inpatient) provides mentorship for operational groups and end users as the liaison between EIS and the customer for strategic, tactical, and day-to-day planning of system implementations, upgrades, improvements, and ongoing end user support. This role facilitates discussions and partners with leaders to manage project and optimization request intake, including prioritization and coordination across diverse business areas. Helps to evaluate, select, and integrate new technologies. Assists with the translation of requirements and ensures efficient workflow design and system build to best serve our clinical and revenue cycle end users and patients. Under limited supervision, manages projects including the needs' analysis, design, development, testing, training, documentation, and communication to business owners.
- Responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient processing of project, optimization and issue request information. Includes intake following team processes and using team tools to log and track request, connect with user, gather clear definition of the problem and goal and advance for prioritization.
- Establishes working relationships with operational personnel, especially senior department management and clinicians.
- With the mentorship of leadership, ensures project goals, achievements, and implementation dates are set and achieved.
- Identifies problems or barriers for the project and communicates to EIS leadership and project sponsors in a timely manner, so they can be resolved.
- Tracks project issues and ensures that they are resolved.
- Ensures identification of critical path and predecessors tasks required to complete the project successfully.
- Compiles lists of milestones and dates and communicates with user areas to ensure all tasks are included.
- Ensures a testing plan is developed and implemented.
- Document current state and helps design future state operational and clinical workflows, ensuring engagement with all vital stakeholders.
- Monitors project status and ensures that appropriate project monitoring tasks are implemented and utilized.
- Conducts and leads project meetings including agenda management, notes and follow-up items.
- Provides status reports and updates on aspects of the project as requested by project sponsors. Assists other applications project managers/leaders in the definition of project scope and identification of alternatives.
Hybrid Remote = must currently live in Los Angeles area or willing to relocate to LA area for weekly onsite requirements
Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
Two (2) plus years of clinical experience as an RN or NP in an inpatient setting, perioperative (periop) experience preferred.
Cedars-Sinai and Epic Optime experience highly preferred.
Must possess an in-depth understanding of departmental operations and processes as well as clinical nursing policies and procedures.
Solid grasp with clinical, financial and/or patient management health care applications or systems is required.
An understanding of the healthcare applications suite and their place in the acute care, physician, ambulatory and ancillary settings.
Must possess excellent clinician and physician relationship skills.
Ability to translate the end-user workflow and requirements into application requirements/design.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Educational/License Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, Nursing, or related field. (preferably BSN or MSN)
Current License as Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner in CA. (preferred)
