Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital is looking for a committed Lead Registration Associate to become part of our outstanding team. Principal Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Coordinate the daily operations of ED Registration, Main Admitting, and Financial Counseling units. Assign and allocate work to ensure tasks are completed on time and to high standards.
  • Workflow Facilitation: Mentor and guide team members, troubleshoot issues, and lead by example to ensure seamless operations.
  • Scheduling: Support the preparation and posting of work schedules, and handle staffing requirements to cover sick calls and other departmental needs. Be available to work extended hours and weekends when required.
  • Staff Development: Provide feedback and recommendations for hiring, transfers, and promotions. Assist with orientation and training for new hires, and find opportunities for ongoing staff development.
  • Budget Compliance: Track staffing levels and overtime use to guarantee conformity with the department’s budget.
  • Quality Control: Ensure accurate demographic and financial information, verify benefits, document insurance coverage, and acquire necessary authorizations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Collect data to support performance indicators and quality assurance reporting. Monitor patient and billing work queues to maintain quality standards.
  • Registration Support: Complete patient registrations as needed, and assist Financial Counseling by helping with Imaging, Surgery, and Inpatient accounts, including after hours and weekends.
  • Patient Experience: Monitor patient wait and registration times to ensure standards are met and patient satisfaction is achieved.
  • Cash Collection Reporting: Accurately report cash collections from various hospital services.
  • Customer Service: Identify and address customer needs, investigate and follow up on complaints, and serve as a liaison with other units.
  • Other Duties: Carry out supplementary tasks as assigned to assist the department’s objectives.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Hospital Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum: 2 years of experience in hospital registration.
  • Preferred: 5 years of experience registering patients in any healthcare setting.
  • Preferred: 2 years of billing experience within a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience leading teams in any industry.
