A Little More About What You Will be Doing

The Senior Manager, MN Project Management plans, organizes and supports cross functional large-scale organization-wide projects/initiatives for the Medical Network, in collaboration with senior leadership. The role is responsible for guiding and supporting the development and implementation of transformational projects to achieve operational and clinical efficiency for the entire Medical Network. The Senior Manager oversees and coordinates cross-functional work teams, market assessments, literature reviews, consensus-building, data analysis/collection and program development. Leads complex evaluations of issues and formulates innovative solutions that are both engaging and cost-effective to address clinical, financial and operational needs. Collaborates with all levels of management and staff to implement strategies to support transformation efforts.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages the work and activities of staff in the development and implementation of organization wide large scale projects and initiatives. Coordinates and leads the full scope of assigned projects through the project life cycle using accepted project management principles.
  • Develops and implements short and long-range goals and objectives which are realistic, objectively measurable, and aligned with the health system strategic plan.
  • Provides leadership to oversee identification, development and final approval of program materials, protocols, financial parameters, workflow, and tools to support achievement of quality measures, customer satisfaction and/or appropriate resource utilization
  • Develops and implements project management plans and manages the staff and activities required to drive successful value initiatives to achieve enhanced quality and reduced expenses.
  • Collaborates with department leadership to develop accountability systems; develop policies and procedures; monitors efficiency and effectiveness of the value initiatives; fosters continuous improvement of systems and processes.
  • Leads in defining, developing and implementing plans for improving clinical efficiency and effectiveness. Spearheads best practice evaluation, identification and development. Develops outcome measures that tie into a benefit realization and return on investment. Provides ongoing analysis and updates. Develops robust outcomes plans that includes metrics, process for measurement and ongoing tracking and overall project assessment. Completes focused reviews and special reports as requested.
  • Manages a portfolio of projects. This includes prioritizing projects, managing the work of others and providing guidance.
  • Interfaces with Cedars-Sinai senior leadership to mitigate barriers and achieve goals relative to projects.
  • Drives operational, performance, efficiency, fiscal and process improvement work across the Medical Network. Provides guidance and support in establishing measurement systems, data measurement plans and dashboards.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Finance, Healthcare/Public Health, Quality, Business Administration required
  • Master's Degree Finance, Healthcare/Public Health, Quality, Business Administration,Project Management preferred
Work Experience
  • 5 years Progressive Operational Leadership experience in a complex organization, hospital, or health system setting. Experience with program development that relies upon thorough synthesis and understanding of clinical evidence/outcomes, process flow analysis, end-user relations, patient and/or customer experience/engagement. Strong and analytical, quantitative and problem solving experience. Thorough understanding of core business processes within complex or healthcare organizaations. required
  • 3 years Management experience of individual contributors and/or supervisors preferred
  • 2 years Project Management experience preferred
