Job Description

The Hosoya Lab is dedicated to advancing the diagnosis and treatment of blood cancers through innovative research. Our team explores how cancer evolves under therapeutic pressure by analyzing circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) and investigates the immune cell populations that drive either cancer progression or control—using cutting-edge single-cell and spatial technologies.

As a Research Associate II, you’ll be an integral part of this mission, working under direct supervision to perform a variety of laboratory experiments and analyses that push the boundaries of cancer research. You’ll develop technical expertise in one or more research areas, conduct complex experimental protocols, validate results, and help translate findings into meaningful scientific contributions.

In addition to hands-on research, you’ll assist in preparing data for publications and presentations, uphold rigorous safety and quality standards, and support the overall operations of a collaborative, high-performing lab environment. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs a variety of increasingly complex experimental protocols and procedures and assist in the design of new complex or unusual protocols and techniques.
  • Keeps accurate and detailed records of experiments and results, and assist in identifying and troubleshooting of unexpected results.
  • Orders laboratory supplies and supports laboratory operations.
  • Maintains lab equipment and related records and may coordinate use of lab equipment.
  • Assists in the operation of specialized equipment, as required by the area of research.
  • Assists in preparation of data for publication and/or presentation at scholarly meetings.
  • Observes and complies with safety standards and procedures.
  • Orients research laboratory assistants or lower level research associates and undergraduate student researchers on day-to-day lab operations and routine procedures.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements for consideration:

  • Bachelors in Science Related Field required.
  • 1 year of Research laboratory experience required.
