What will you be doing:

The Manager, Patient Accounting is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations of assigned areas, to meet the needs of all customers, ensure the timely submission and collections of claims and support the Medical Center philosophies. The Manager assumes fiscal responsibility through preparation of unit budgets, serves as a liaison with medical staff and other personnel, promotes maximum growth and development of each employee, participants in strategic planning, both long and short term and assumes patient advocacy. The Manager, Patient Accounting is accountable to the Director (or above) and guides staff in meeting customer's needs consistent with the Medical Center's philosophy, mission, vision and strategic plan. The role is responsible for contributing to the overall achievement of Cedars-Sinai's Revenue Cycle (CSRC) goals and objectives. Maintains competency skills including the ability to interact with customers of diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Oversees the processes for international cash-paying patients, ensuring efficient and effective management of operations. Implement and oversee financial controls to ensure accurate cost estimates and efficient cash collection processes. Manages day-to-day operational support for CS International self-pay operations, overseeing cash estimates and processing. Ensures prompt, accurate estimates and payment posting. Oversees payment security measures to reduce risk and improve revenue capture. Develops strategies to streamline processes and communication, securing payments and optimizing revenue in CS International. Creates/monitors/tracks revenue cycle management of International ‘cash’ package patients. 
  • Collaborates with revenue cycle and other Finance leadership to refine pricing structures and payment workflows. Collaborates with clinical leadership to ensure effective service coordination and integration. Trains and mentors staff on international self-pay financial procedures, fostering a high-performing team capable of managing patient financial concerns with professionalism and accuracy.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

Five (5) plus years of Hospital business office experience, specializing in one or more of the following: admissions, financial screening, insurance verification, billing and collection.

Experience in multiple areas and/or with supervisory or management experience and experience with the Epic patient account system.

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field, preferred.
