What will you be doing in this role?
The Manager, Digital Design is responsible for ideation and implementation of design with regard to digital strategy and execution in order to drive growth, expansion, and innovation of digital capabilities and customer experience at Cedars-Sinai. This role creates strategies that communicate and embed human-centered design into digital innovation and related operational changes to support the process and tactics to implement that vision.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to scope, design, concept test, and deliver innovative solutions that support consumer-facing digital products and services for Cedars-Sinai, with a focus on user experience as a means of acquiring and retaining healthcare consumers.
- Translates business objectives and user goals into meaningful solutions built upon user feedback. Finds and articulates areas of opportunity while also providing reverse feedback loops to help make quick assessments of impacts in order to pivot the approach.
- Advises and supports teams throughout the organization on creative direction to support the execution of a variety of creative work (e.g. mobile app, interactive web experience, physical products and services).
- Directs the digital design cohort to concept, plan, and implement a variety of creative work (e.g. mobile app, interactive web experience, physical products and services).
- Develops, leads, and champions human centered design, design research/synthesis, and strategic innovation practices within the design cohort of the Digital Implementations team and throughout the organization (as required).
- Designs, develops and guides quantitative and qualitative research and contextual design investigations to reduce consumer frictions, challenge assumptions, and create a delightful experience. Bring insights to life through personas, user journeys, mock-ups, service blueprinting, stories, and opportunities.
- Leads/supports the implementation of a holistic convergent and divergent design process for the conceptual development, design, and building of physical and digital services/products in partnership with collaborators, product managers, business strategists and engineering.
- Designs, plans, and facilitates co-design and design thinking workshops with collaborators and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Fosters design best practices and innovative ways of working among members of the design team as well as with other operational and project/product cohorts. Develops materials that synthesize insights, which can thoughtfully challenge the status quo via informed evaluation of consumer data.
- Develops tools, processes, and ways of working that can be used across a variety of teams and support patient/consumer-first design.
- Supports the team across different types of projects by providing guidance and direction as well as participating in execution when necessary.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human computer interaction, experience design, service design, industrial design, graphic design, data science, cognitive science, psychology, or another relevant major required. Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in a User Experience Research role, Strategic Design role, or relevant professional experience required.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience with design, design strategy or innovation management, design thinking & execution with a deep understanding of front-end innovation practices required.
- Non-profit experience preferred.

Our compensation philosophy
We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other recognition programs for our employees. The base pay range shown above takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors.
