What will you be doing in this role:

The Lead Full-Stack Developer will work with a multidisciplinary team to design, build, and evolve Cedars-Sinai’s patient-centric digital platforms. This role serves as a senior technical leader responsible for full-stack architecture, implementation, and mentorship across modern web applications supporting cedars-sinai.org and cedars-sinai.edu.

  • You will contribute hands-on code while guiding technical direction across front-end, back-end, and integration layers, serving as a key liaison between engineering, design, product, analytics, and business stakeholders.
  • Lead full-stack development efforts across modern web applications, contributing hands-on code in both front-end and back-end systems.
  • Collaborate on and evolve Cedars-Sinai’s Composable Front-End Architecture, employing React 19, TypeScript, and modern tooling.
  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express (or similar frameworks).
  • Implement spec-driven development practices using OpenAPI and Swagger to define and enforce API contracts.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define requirements, data contracts, and integration patterns.
  • Build, deploy, and manage API services and infrastructure within the AWS cloud environment.
  • Partner closely with CMS platforms including Adobe AEM and Webflow, providing guidance on enterprise usage, scalability, governance, and custom integrations.
  • Lead initiatives involving Webflow, including Designer standard methodologies, custom development, API-based data exchange, and platform adoption strategies.
  • Support advanced search and discovery experiences, including tuning and integrating platforms such as Yext.
  • Contribute to Conversational AI initiatives by supporting integration patterns, APIs, and front-end experiences.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) to improve development efficiency and code quality.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, peer-review practices, and architectural patterns.
  • Mentor and guide developers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical problem-solving.
  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility, performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and implementation guidance.
  • Serve as technical liaison to internal customers, research groups, and business partners.

Hybrid Remote = must currently live in Los Angeles area or willing to relocate to LA area for onsite requirements

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

Eight (8) plus years of professional software development experience, with a solid focus on full-stack web applications.

Deep experience in React and TypeScript, including modern patterns, performance optimization, and state management.

Solid experience with Composable or SPA architectures in enterprise environments.

Hands-on experience with modern front-end tooling such as Vite, Yarn, Storybook, and related ecosystems.

Solid back-end development experience using Node.js, including REST API design and implementation.

Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger and spec-driven API development.

Experience deploying and operating services on AWS, including CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure concepts.

Experience integrating and extending enterprise CMS platforms, including Adobe AEM and Webflow.

Familiarity with search platforms and complex data models; experience with Yext is strongly preferred.

Exposure to Conversational AI platforms or AI-driven digital experiences.

Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency and quality.

Solid grasp of web accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508, WAI-ARIA).

Security-minded development practices.

Demonstrable experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring developers.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Advanced degrees or relevant technical certifications are a plus.

The base pay range shown above takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors.
