What will you be doing in this role?

The Anesthesia Team Lead operates under the direction of the Manager, Business Operations and coordinates the technical staff of the Anesthesia Department. Provides technical and instrumentation support associated with the delivery of anesthesia. Assumes a leadership role in developing a team approach between physicians and technicians as it relates to patient care. The Team Leader oversees the evaluation, implementation, application of procedures and protocols requiring invasive and non-invasive physiological measurement in all anesthetizing locations. Responsibilities include the selection, maintenance, quality control and application of all equipment used by the Anesthesia Department. The Team Lead observes, coaches, and coordinates all technical procedures, schedules, special projects, protocols, education and training to the anesthesia technical staff, and maintains competency skills including the ability to deliver care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds. Identifies safety concerns in the age related population, institutes additional protective measures to provide a safe environment, and identifies normal growth and developmental milestones in neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.

Coordinates the interdisciplinary team approach to patient care. Coaches, observes, and provides guidance to staff when interacting with all patient populations served, utilizing skills appropriate for each specific age group. Assumes the role of liaison between departments and anesthesia to include outlying anesthetizing locations.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
  • Certified as an Anesthesia Technician by the American Society of Anesthesia Technician and Technologist.
  • Basic Life Support Certification by the American Heart Association.
  • Seven (7) years of excellent experience as a certified anesthesia technician.
  • Two (2) years Leadership experience
