Job Description
The Anesthesia Tech II is an integral member of the anesthesia patient care team and will operate under the general direction of the Anesthesiology Team Lead. The role is to assist the licensed anesthesia provider in the acquisition, preparation and application of equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia. Is committed to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of healthcare colleagues and patients, adapts well and flexible to changing situations, and demonstrates effective communication and teamwork skills. Provides support in anesthesia for routine and complex surgical cases by preparing and maintaining patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia. Responsibilities include but not limited to assisting the licensed anesthesia provider in various settings, performing duties under the direct supervision of the licensed anesthesia provider, providing support for routine surgical cases through preparation and maintenance of patient equipment and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia, and cleaning, sterilizing, disinfecting, stocking, ordering and maintaining the routine anesthesia equipment and supplies. Demonstrates the knowledge cardiopulmonary/vascular anatomy, physiology, infection control, pharmacology, and medical electronics. Identifies safety concerns in the age related population, identify normal growth and developmental milestones in neonates, infants, child, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, and able to institute protective measures to provide a safe environment.Qualifications
Education- High School Diploma/GED - minimum
- Assoc. Degree/College Diploma Health Science or other related field - preferred
Experience
- 2 years Experience in a healthcare environment - minimum
Licenses and Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Upon Hire minimum Require BCLS unless a higher level of certification is required
- Certified Anesthesia Technician - Upon Hire preferred American Society of Anesthesia Technician and Technologist (ASATT)
