Job Description
As Cedars-Sinai Technology Ventures (CSTV) transitions our longstanding Accelerator program into the evolved Accelerator+ initiative, we are seeking a new additional investment team member to join our team.
The Investment Analyst supports the CSTV team through a wide variety of functions, including research, quantitative analysis, due diligence, preparation of presentation materials, and management of key systems and databases. The CSTV and Accelerator+ initiative spends significant time identifying and cultivating relationships with firms and managers that can add value to Cedars-Sinai's portfolio and help achieve targeted return objectives. Due diligence efforts focus on qualitative and quantitative research at both the asset class level and the individual firm, manager, or opportunity level.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Works on all aspects of portfolio management, including sourcing, selection and monitoring of investment managers, performing investment research, and conducting portfolio and performance analysis
Prepares investment memos and other materials based on involvement in all aspects of the diligence process.
Builds and maintains a research database of prospective investment manager relationships, including an active investment pipeline of actionable opportunities.
Leads data analytics efforts and related software partnerships, ensuring data integrity and reconciling discrepancies. Maintains frequent contact with service providers and troubleshoot any issues as they arise.
Source and evaluate early-stage investment opportunities by building and maintaining relationships with founders, venture capital firms, accelerators, and other stakeholders in the healthcare and technology innovation ecosystem.
Conduct comprehensive due diligence on companies and products, including market research, competitive analysis, financial modeling, and interviews with key stakeholders.
Prepare and present investment recommendations to leadership, including the development of detailed investment memos and presentation materials for the Investment Committee
Research emerging sub-sectors and innovation trends to support proactive investment theses and pipeline development.
Provide ongoing financial reporting and performance tracking for portfolio companies, including key metrics and enterprise value drivers.
Collaborate on strategic and operational initiatives aimed at streamlining internal processes, supporting portfolio growth, and enhancing the overall value of the investment platform.
Participate in special projects that support the expansion of the Tech Ventures portfolio and the development of scalable investment frameworks.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Finance, Economics or related field required
Masters in a health-related discipline is preferred
Experience and Skills:
- 2 years in investment analyst experience at an investment firm, investment bank or related firm.
- 2 years of an accelerator environment or early-stage investing with multi-cultural worldwide experience. Healthcare experience is preferred.
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license preferred
