Per Diem Career Float Pool RNs may float within one or more of the following specialty clusters:

  • Adult ICU/PACU
  • Adult Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, and Progressive Care (PCU)
  • Women's Services
  • NICU, PICU, and Pediatrics
  • Emergency Services

Each per diem Career Float Pool RN is assigned a Tier Status based on the number of specialty clusters in which they maintain competency. Tier assignment reflects the breadth of clinical areas the RN is qualified to support.

As a per diem Career Float Registered Nurse, You Will:

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.

License/Certification Requirements:

  • California State RN License required
  • American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for RNs floated to Medical, PICU, ICU, PCU, Tele, L&D, MFCU, PreOp PACU/OSU, ED and Cardiac.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required for RNs floated to NICU, L&D and Post Partum.
  • Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required for RNs floated to PEDs, NICU, ED, PreOp PACU/OSU.
  • (Expiration dates for ACLS, NRP and PALS certifications need be 60 days or more from the hire date).
  • For RN III: Specialty certification is required upon hire.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years recent acute RN experience in specialty. Note: (minimum 2 years recent acute RN experience for RN II)
  • Experience in two or more of the Career Float Pool specialty clusters listed above.

Per Diem staff must consistently meet the following work requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 days per pay period to include 3 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Per Diem staff working 144 or more hours per time schedule will work a minimum of four (4) weekend shifts per schedule.
  • Be available to work two (2) of the six national holidays one must include Christmas or New Year's. Holiday commitments will include the holiday eves as the day.
  • Be available to rotate shifts as needed.

Our compensation philosophy

We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other recognition programs for our employees. The base pay range shown above takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors.
