Our world-class, Level IV, regional Ahmanson Pediatric Center's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is one of the largest in all of Southern California and unmatched in the United States for its innovative design and technology. Under the leadership of Charles F. Simmons, Jr., MD, the NICU admits nearly 700 infants per year.

We offer comprehensive neonatal diagnostic and treatment facilities for critically ill newborns. Our center also holds a multidisciplinary research unit, dedicated to delivering the highest quality care for all newborns, ranging from healthy neonates to sick or premature newborns requiring close observation or intensive care.

Under the direction of a licensed care giver, and after education and demonstration of competency, the Logistic Tech performs a variety of direct/indirect patient care or tasks specific to the units needs of the patient population in the preoperative environment.

The NICU Logistics Technician is primarily accountable for transporting supplies and equipment interdepartmentally and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds in all age groups. He / she identifies safety concerns in the age related population; institutes additional protective measures to provide a safe environment; and identifies normal growth and developmental achievements in neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.


Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Knowledge of therapeutic positioning techniques preferred.

License/Certification Requirements:

Basic Life Support Certification (BCLS) Approved by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.

Experience:

Previous transportation experience preferred.
